Barre
Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout using elements of ballet, Pilates and Yoga, focusing on high repetitions and low-resistance movements to music.
Working with the beat of the music keeps the heart rate up making this class a perfect combination of cardio, strength, endurance, and flexibility, creating longer toned muscles, improving your posture and alignment.
The majority of the class is standing, starting with a warm up sequence, and compound movements, then moving to the barre and finishing on the mat. We often incorporate props such as resistance bands, Pilates balls, and light weights.
Barre classes are accessible to people of all fitness levels, no dance/ballet experience required. Modifications and progressions given as needed. Also suitable for pregnancy, but please contact us first to discuss.
A perfect complement to your mat and reformer training.
We have a hands-on approach, if you’re not comfortable with touch cue’s please let your instructor know.
Mats are provided but feel free to bring your own.
We recommend comfortable clothing and grip socks, if wearing shorts please do have fitted lining.
